American Studies Club

Founded in January 2011, the American Studies Club fosters a social and academic outlet for students who are majoring, minoring, or just interested in American studies at The University of Alabama.

Every semester, the AMS Club sponsors a showing of a film related to American studies, and organizes lectures, trips, and other activities that contribute to campus life. The AMS Club also collaborates with other campus organizations to improve the overall college experience for American studies students.

Recently, the club presented ‘Bama Girl, a film about the struggles of a UA homecoming queen to overcome politics of the Machine and race. The club is currently organizing a trip to Birmingham’s Civil Rights Museum.
