JUSTIN BRANUM

Since taking my first class in 2017, I’ve been nothing but reassured of my decision to major in American Studies. The courses are highly intriguing, and the faculty is devoted to the program and students, always willing to work with me to help further both my academic and professional development. My American Studies major has allowed me to learn and grow academically, providing me with the opportunity to better understand a variety of topics regarding art, culture, politics, and history, approaching each with a unique interdisciplinary approach. Within American Studies, I’ve been challenged to think critically and engage with works which are often overlooked within more traditional degree programs, an aspect which I love about the program.I’m blessed to have begun taking courses as a part of the Accelerated Master’s Program in American Studies, which will allow me to simultaneously work towards earning both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. As a part of the master’s program, I’ve been able to foster relationships with my fellow graduate students and the faculty, allowing me to further my academic career. Upon receiving my master’s degree, I plan on attending law school, focusing on either criminal or sports law.
