In late April, Professor Morgan participated in a panel presentation with Selma Civil Rights Movement veterans Joyce O’Neal and Dianne Harris at the Birmingham Public Library. The panel was held in conjunction with the BPL’s exhibit of photographs by James “Spider” Martin, which chronicled the events surrounding the Selma to Montgomery March campaign—including “Bloody Sunday” and the eventual successful completion of the march. The exhibit and panel were sponsored by a grant from the Alabama Humanities Alliance and organized by curator Paul Barrett.
